Surgery has always been more than just a discipline to me—it is the art of healing through precision, innovation, and dedication. Among all surgical specialties, vascular surgery represents the pinnacle of intervention, where the ability to restore circulation can mean the difference between disability and mobility, between suffering and relief, and sometimes even between life and death. This profound impact on patient health is what drew me to the field and continues to drive my passion for advancing vascular care.
After completing my undergraduate degree in Medical Sciences, I pursued a Master’s degree in Clinical Anatomy, which led me to teach anatomy and physiology at Western University and a local college. My love for anatomy propelled me toward medical school at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, followed by five years of rigorous post-graduate training in Vascular Surgery at the University of Calgary. During this time, I honed my expertise in both open and minimally invasive vascular interventions, equipping me with the skills to manage complex vascular diseases.
Upon returning to Windsor, Ontario, I recognized the pressing need for innovation in vascular surgery within the region. I spearheaded the development of Windsor Regional Hospital’s endovascular program, bringing cutting-edge minimally invasive techniques to the community. This initiative has significantly improved patient outcomes, providing advanced, less invasive surgical options for life-threatening vascular conditions, reducing hospital stays, and enhancing recovery times.
Beyond clinical practice, I am deeply committed to surgical leadership and education. I completed a program in Surgical Leadership at Harvard Medical School, equipping me with the skills to drive change in healthcare systems. As an adjunct professor of surgery at Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, I am passionate about training the next generation of doctors and surgeons. My dedication to teaching has been recognized through several teaching awards, a testament to my commitment to mentoring and inspiring future physicians.
